Cape Cod Potters, organized more than 50 years ago,  supports area ceramic artists by sharing knowledge, experience, business promotion and exhibition opportunities for all levels - professionals, amateurs, and students.

We engage with local schools, community art centers, and individuals to promote and maintain standards of excellence and professional growth and to provide a sense of community for our membership.

Cape Cod Potters sponsors lectures and workshops on ceramic arts throughout Cape Cod.  We organize fundraising events on behalf of the broader community, for example Soup Bowls for Hunger for various food pantries, and provide support for students and members to further ceramic arts education.

Cape Cod Potters is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization and is supported by membership dues, events, donations, grants.

UPDATE! Notifications are running a little behind. We will get them out as soon as possible. Respond and Commit Deadline extended to May 5.

From July 21-October 22, 2024, Highfield Hall and Gardens will be hosting “Fired Up: Juried Show of The Cape Cod Potters, which aims to highlight and celebrate the diversity of ceramic work being created on this small, sandy spit of land. Cape Cod’s unique geography can inspire and constrict, can push artists to explore their local influences, and can lead them to reach beyond their geographic boundaries. Each of the many potters living and working on Cape Cod bring their own unique voice to the medium of clay. This show aims to highlight the best of that energy. We are honored to have this show juried by Kathy King, Director of The Ceramics Program at The Office For The Arts at Harvard. Kathy has decades of experience as an educator, advocate, curator, juror, and maker, and brings that wealth of experience to jurying this show.

A Message from our board

Hello!

Upcoming Meeting Schedule:

Sunday, March 24, 10-11:30, Meetinghouse Clay Center, Cataumet — Final bowl collection for Soup Bowls for Hunger

It is TIME TO RENEW! We have received 45 new or renewal memberships so far for 2024. Thank you if you are one of those folks! Going forward, memberships will be rolling, and you will be sent a reminder note automatically generated by the website 1 month prior to your membership expiration. You should have also received a note confirming your purchase and thanking you. Our new website is still in its infancy, so please let us know if you did not receive that follow up note.

We currently have roughly 450 soup bowls committed. This hallmark event of the Cape Cod Potters benefits The Family Pantry, and will once again be an in-person event at The Cape Cod Tech School in Harwich. This event is underwritten by The Cape Cod Five Cent Savings Bank. We are looking for more donations. In particular, if you are a member of a community studio, ask if you can put out a collection bin. Drop off places so far are Meetinghouse Clay Center (leave on back step if the building isn’t open), Cotuit Center For The Arts ceramics studio, and Diane Heart’s studio.
